A Senior Engineering Risk Manager / Engineering Construction Manager / Project Engineering Manager is required to take full responsibility on a major project for all safety, operations and planning issues. Project could be bridge, viaduct, tunnelling, highway/road sections of work or multiple combinations. Duties Reporting to the Project Director, you will be working with the Project Manager & Construction Manager to deliver major Hong Kong projects for premium clients. This role is to provide an overview and control of risk management issues on key technical aspects of major projects which will be key to its engineering & financial success. YOu will use in house company civil engineering contracting processes to identify & monitor issues & will liaise with the Project Director on action required to be taken as a result. You will have a major role to play in interfacing with the client. As Engineering & Risk Manager, you will play a key role in the management and delivery of a major, high-profile, globally recognised infrastructure development. Having an extensive background in the management and delivery of major civil and infrastructure projects, your experience will include, but not be limited to, Metro, Rail, Viaduct, Bridge, Tunnel, Station and Transportation Interchange developments. Managing all aspects of the engineering and design portions of a project you will also have total responsibility for overseeing and coordinating the management of Risk & Opportunities for the entire project utilising my clients Risk Management Tools. Whilst leading and managing a multi-skilled project engineering team, you will be required to work closely with the consulting engineers on the coordination of all project drawings, resolve any construction queries and issues during both the design and construction phases of the project and work closely with the Project Director and Construction Managers to ensure the successful delivery of the project to the Client. Candidates must have a sound knowledge and understanding of complex construction methodologies. A minimum of 10 years relevant experience in similar positions, ideally with time spent overseas. Prior experience with main contractors on large-scale heavy civil, infrastructure, geotechnical and building projects is required. Candidate should be a self-starter, require minimal support for day-to-day activities and possess excellent time management and organizational skills. The ideal candidate would be a technical generalist with skills ranging from supporting production systems, networks to web development.

This position begins with a 9-month contract. We hope this will be extended and made permanent.

Skills/Qualifications:

- BS in Computer Science or a technical field. MS a plus.

- Working knowledge of a development and scripting language required. Java, PHP and/or Perl a plus.

- Working knowledge of Linux operating system required. RHEL a plus.

- Working knowledge of SQL and at least one database environment.

- Minimum 2-3 years experience in a customer-facing technical help desk / product support environment. Preferably in an Operations or Enterprise service center.

- Advanced written and verbal communication skills (Chinese and English), including the ability to effectively communicate complex issues to both technical and non-technical users.

- Strong background in user support and familiarity with current web practices and concepts.

- Excellent initiative, interpersonal and problem solving skills with a strong desire to learn.

Responsibilities:

- Critically analyze operational metrics, monitoring systems and support escalations.

- Respond to Production Support tickets from multiple domestic and international teams.

- Prioritize issues and troubleshoot them independently while coordinating with Management, Business, Product and Engineering teams.

- Ensure quality of service and quick resolution to all production problems across a variety of complex technologies, applications, tools, products and services.

- Provide expert support and product knowledge on our specialized products.

- Work closely with Customer Service, Sales and other Business teams on a variety of Advertiser, Partner or platform technical issues.

- Work closely with Operations, Development, QA and Engineering teams to triage issues, make fixes, advocate problems and document technical run books, support whitepapers and procedures.

Acquaintance with the financial market is important

Proficiency in Matlab is a strong advantage

Prior experience in financial modeling and linear algebra is also an advantage

Experience with JDBC, SQL performance tuning and stored procedures on RDBMS is strongly preferred

Knowledge of Spring, web-based development, AJAX and JMS is a bonus

Experience in Linux/Unix environments

Excellent English language skills and communication skills
