Main Duties:

Responsible for line Product Control of equity volatility and exotics books, managing 6 people team to fulfil responsibilities below.

(i) Daily P&L reporting
Report daily P&L for exotics books, including understanding risk positions and market moves for P&L explanation.
Engage in detailed discussions with traders and risk management team on risk positions and P&L.
Understand system and control framework and apply to daily work.

(ii) Month end Close
Gain in depth understanding of provisioning and perform month end calculations.

(iii) Validations
Perform validations process for small number of exotic trades.
Liaise with team valuations expert on modelling appropriateness and other technical/booking issues.

(iv) Controls
Monitor control reports to ensure accuracy of data for P&L, validation and downstream processes.
Raise the team's level of control awareness. Lead by example and engender a strong controls culture.

(v) Projects and Continuous Improvements
Drive improvements in controls and efficiency. Where required, liaise with projects experts in HK and counterparts in London/ Singapore.
Motivate and empower the team to deliver continuous improvements.

(vi) Management
Responsible for performance and development of 6 staff.
Responsible for resource allocation within the team and setting clear objectives for both business deliverables and personal development.
Provide leadership and support/advice to the team. Focus on prioritisation and delivery.
Drive team training, particularly increasing technical ability.

(vii) Other
Ensure escalation of issues to management on timely basis.
Proactive involvement in new business initiatives.
Build close working relation ship with FO, MO, Operations, and Independent Valuation Control and Risk Management departments.
Be viewed as a trusted business advisor to other departments and Finance management

Qualifications /education:
University Degree or Equivalent in Accounting/Finance
Professional qualifications, for example:
i CFA, FRM
i Securities Institute,
i accreditations/licenses with local authorities
i Chartered accountant
Big 4 background

Experience required:
6-8 years of solid experience in a similar role in a top tier investment bank

Since our inception, Room to Read's worldwide team has impacted over 4 million children by constructing more than 1,100 schools, establishing over 9,200 libraries, publishing 433 new children's book titles in 11 local languages, and putting over 8,700 girls onto long-term, holistic scholarships.

Position Overview:

This position is an integral part of our International Accounting team. The part-time Accounting/Admin Analyst is responsible for three key roles: process incoming donation, handle all payable processes and support the monthly / quarterly / year-end close processes for our Hong Kong and Singapore offices. This position is a part time role.

Duties & Responsibilities:

A Monitor bank accounts online. Recognize debits and credits in accounts in Hong Kong and Singapore.

A Daily processing of credit card donations.

A Weekly reconciliation of all donations, wires, checks, cash, etc. and delivery to Accountant for banking.

A Keep log for external Accountant up to date and send weekly so he can reconcile the donations and prepare receipts.

A Weekly, send receipts and thank you notes to donors.

A Work with auditors on annual audit.

A Provide information to Global Office team for consolidated US audit (12/31 fiscal year end)

A Month-end accounting close:

A Download and save e-bank statements

A Strong Unix Systems Administration Skills Preferred: Primary environment Linux

A Programming Languages: Perl 5.8 or better. (1-2 years) and solid knowledge of Perl DBD packages and object oriented perl programming, C/C++ (1-2 years)

A Familiarity with Oracle 10g or better: OTL, Pro C, SQL Net, Java
